Chris Arthur celebrated in Women in PR ‘45 over 45’ list

This International Women’s Day, McCann Central’s Chris Arthur has been named in the inaugural Women in PR ‘45 over 45’ list, which recognises outstanding women in comms aged over 45.

The list was launched off the back of research that revealed over one-third of women in comms have experienced workplace ageism and just over half of women under 50 don’t see themselves working in the same part of the industry when they turn 50.

Women in PR – whose mission is to improve equality and diversity across the industry by increasing the number and diversity of women in leadership roles – received more than 200 nominations for the initiative.

Anna Geffert, president of Women in PR, said: “Today is a bold celebration of age and experience amongst women within our industry, and we are very proud to be pioneering this movement. Our industry has been missing a trick when we focus just on youth. The 45 incredible female PRs represent all corners of the broad church within PR – and confirm that it is possible for women in our industry to carve out a long, stimulating and valuable career.

“Nurturing and inspiring the next generation of female leaders is the spirit behind WIPR’s mission – and we can’t do that if a woman’s career journey ends in her early 40s. Our ‘WPR 45 over 45’ list will inspire the next generation of female leaders and help shape a brighter future for the sector.”

Chris Arthur heads up McCann Central’s PR and Social operation which includes a 60-strong team of experts across its offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Milton Keynes and London, offering the full spectrum of services from media relations and reputation management through to influencer marketing, content creation and strategy.

Podcast - Note to self – how the Electoral Commission changed the nation’s behaviour

In 2022, the Elections Act introduced a huge change for in-person voting – voters would now be required to present eligible photo ID at polling stations or face being turned away.
